Completion of concrete work

In December, the final concrete work was completed: the outer enclosure wall of the kora walkway surrounding the temple. The formwork panels used in the spring were cleaned and reused, along with the recovered nails and wooden struts.

The support of the local population was touching: on the last day of concreting, we counted approximately 70 people – 50 for the concrete pour, 10 for cooking, and 10 for a supporting meditation practice. Add to that the brilliant weather and the clear visibility of the reclining Buddha in the mountain silhouette opposite… a beautiful conclusion to this first construction phase.
